What’s the top speed of a Ford Expedition? |

So, out of pure curiosity (not that I’m about to floor it or anything… maybe), does anyone know the top speed of a stock Ford Expedition? I’ve got a 2018 Expedition with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, and I’m just wondering how fast this beast can actually go. I mean, it’s a big SUV, so I’m not expecting sports car speeds, but it does have some decent horsepower. I figure someone here must’ve pushed theirs to the limit—maybe on an empty road or a closed course?
From what I’ve heard, the top speed is governed somewhere around 110 mph, but I haven’t tested that out for obvious reasons (hello, speeding tickets!). I’m more curious about how stable it feels at higher speeds and if anyone’s ever felt brave enough to see what it can really do.
Also, is there any way to safely remove the speed limiter without doing something crazy like voiding the warranty? Not that I’d need to go faster than 110 mph in this thing, but, you know, just wondering. Anyone who’s tried it before or knows the actual speed numbers, drop your experience here!

Are splash guards necessary for a Ford Expedition? |

Okay, so I’m wondering if it’s worth adding splash guards to my 2020 Expedition. I don’t do any off-roading, but it does rain a lot where I live. Do splash guards actually make a difference in keeping the car cleaner, or is it just a waste of money?

Alternator interchange list for Ford Expedition: Compatible models? |

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me out here. My alternator is on its way out in my 2013 Ford Expedition, and I’m trying to avoid dropping a ton of money on a brand-new one. I was thinking of heading to a junkyard to pull one, but I’m not sure which alternators from other Ford models would be compatible with my Expedition. I figure if I can grab one from a different vehicle, I could save a decent amount of cash.
Does anyone know if alternators from an F-150, Explorer, or maybe even an older Navigator would fit in my 2013 Expedition? I’ve heard that some of the parts are interchangeable between these models, but I don’t want to end up with something that won’t bolt right in. If there are any specific years or models that are a direct swap, that would be awesome to know.
Also, is there anything I should be aware of when buying a used alternator? I don’t want to grab one that’s already on its last legs. I’d appreciate any advice from someone who’s done this before or has a solid interchange list. Thanks in advance!

Why does the belt squeal when my Expedition's AC is on? |

So, I’ve got this really annoying issue with my 2016 Expedition. Every time I turn on the AC, the belt starts squealing like it’s begging for mercy. The strange part is that it only happens when the AC is on—when it’s off, no noise at all. I’ve already checked the belt tension, and everything seems fine, so now I’m wondering if it’s something more specific, like one of the pulleys.
Could it be the AC compressor pulley or maybe the tensioner going bad? I’ve heard that sometimes the AC clutch can cause the belt to slip if it’s worn out, but I don’t know if that’s what’s going on here. The belt itself looks pretty new, no cracks or wear, so I doubt it’s the belt itself.
Anyone else run into this problem? Should I just replace the belt anyway or focus more on the pulleys and the AC compressor? I’m trying to avoid taking it to a mechanic if it’s something I can fix at home, but I don’t want to make it worse either. Any advice on how to diagnose this further or fix it would be much appreciated!

Oil cooler leak in a Ford Expedition: How do I fix it? |

Ugh, I think my 2015 Expedition has an oil cooler leak. I’m seeing oil spots under the car, and the mechanic said it’s most likely the cooler. Is this something I can DIY, or am I better off paying for a shop to handle it? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I’m looking to check my fuel pressure and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good fuel pressure gauge kit for my Expedition. There are a ton of options out there, and I’d rather get something that’s been tried and tested by you all. Let me know!

How do I fix a "charging system failure" in my Ford Expedition? |

So, I got hit with the dreaded "charging system failure" warning on my 2017 Expedition today, and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. From what I’ve read, this usually means there’s something up with either the alternator or the battery. I already checked the battery terminals, and they seem fine—no corrosion or loose connections that I could see.
Could this be a sign my alternator is failing? I’m at around 95,000 miles, so I guess it wouldn’t be shocking if that’s the case, but I really hope it’s something simpler. Has anyone else had this happen? I’ve heard it might just be a bad battery or even a loose belt, but I’m not sure where to start.
Also, if it is the alternator, how difficult is it to replace on a Ford Expedition? I’m fairly handy with tools, but I don’t want to get in over my head if it’s a huge job. Any advice or similar experiences would be super helpful! Let me know what you guys think or if there’s anything else I should check before I start replacing parts.
