Looking to perform an oil change on my 2004 Ford Ranger with a 4.0 engine. Does anyone know the exact oil capacity for this model?

For the 2004 Ford Ranger with the 4.0L engine, you'll need about 5 quarts of oil with a filter change.

Can confirm, it’s 5 quarts for the 4.0L V6. I use full synthetic oil for optimal performance and protection.

Yep, 5 quarts with the filter change. Also, check your manual to confirm the oil type recommended for your climate and use.

Correct on the 5 quarts. If you’re doing rough or towing driving, Synthetic Oil could give you better engine protection and performance.

Everyone's spot on with the 5 quarts. Just make sure when you change the oil to check for any leaks or anything unusual around the oil pan and filter afterwards.
