So I live in a place where the weather goes from one extreme to the next. In the summer, it gets blazing hot, and in the winter, we’re talking freezing temps and snowstorms. I’m really considering getting a Bronco with the soft top, but I’m worried about how it holds up in these kinds of conditions. I’ve read that the hardtop is more durable, but I love the versatility of the soft top—being able to take it down easily during the warmer months sounds like a dream. But… what happens when the weather turns?
Anyone here have experience with the soft top in extreme weather? Does it handle heavy rain, snow, or even high winds well? I’m particularly worried about leaks around the seams or zippers, and whether it wears out faster than the hardtop. Plus, how’s the noise when you're driving at higher speeds? I do a fair bit of highway driving, and I don’t want it to sound like I’m inside a wind tunnel every time I get above 60 mph.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s lived with the soft top for a while—especially if you’ve gone through a few seasons with it. Are there any tricks to making it last longer, or things I should look out for maintenance-wise? I’m leaning toward it because of the convenience, but durability is my main concern.
