Anyone got a spark plug wire diagram for a 2001 Ford Ranger with the 3.0 engine? I'm doing some tune-up work and wanna make sure I get the wires right.
Hey Vince, so I dug around and found a service manual from '01. It suggests that the firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. Make sure you check that the coil pack numbers correspond to the correct cylinder.
Curious why Ford always likes to mix it up with spark plug wire sequences. Anyone else think it’s like solving a puzzle every time?
Not sure if this helps, but make sure the terminal on the coil and spark plug are snug. Loose connections might fry your system.
No lie, I used a tiny dab of dielectric grease inside the plug boots during my tune-up. Helped the wires slide onto the plugs easier. A bit of an unconventional tip but might save you some hassle.
This Topic has been discussed like a zillion times, why not search the forum first? ?
If all else fails, check out some video tutorials on YouTube. Sometimes it's easier to understand visually! Good luck with the tune-up!
