How to read timing marks on a Ford Fusion?

I’m about to check the timing on my 2012 Ford Fusion with a 2.5L engine. Does anyone have tips on how to properly read the timing marks? I’ve heard it can be a bit tricky, especially without the right tools. Any advice or a quick guide would be appreciated.
