Hey everyone, need some help here! So, my Ford Edge makes this really loud squeal when I first start it up in the morning or after it’s been sitting for a while. The sound goes away after a few seconds, but it's super embarrassing, and I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to happen. I’ve read it could be a belt issue, like the serpentine belt or maybe a tensioner that’s not doing its job?

I haven't checked yet, but could this be happening because of cold weather? Or maybe the belt is just worn out? I don’t want to wait too long and end up with an even bigger problem (or a huge bill). Anyone else had this happen, and if so, what did you do to fix it? Should I panic, or can I drive around for a bit with it squealing?

Hey folks, just noticed the outer shoulder of my tire is worn way more than the rest. I drive a Ford Edge, and I haven’t been off-roading or anything crazy. What could be causing this? Is it alignment, tire pressure, or something else? Should I be concerned about safety, or can I wait a bit to fix it? Help me out before my tires get even more bald, lol.

Ahhh, P0741… the gift that keeps on giving. If you’re seeing this code, you’re probably dealing with a torque converter clutch solenoid issue (yep, it’s as fun as it sounds) or some kind of transmission problem. Basically, your transmission might not be locking up like it’s supposed to, which means crappy performance and even worse gas mileage.

First thing I’d do is check your transmission fluid. Sometimes it’s just low, and that could save you a headache. But if you’re not too comfy messing with transmission stuff, maybe it’s time to call in the pros.

Let this code hang around too long, and your transmission’s gonna hate you for it (and so will your wallet).

Hey, has anyone else experienced issues with their push-button start on the Ford Edge? Sometimes, I press it, and the engine doesn't start right away. It feels like the car is hesitating or something, but I don't want to get stranded somewhere! What are the symptoms of a bad push button start? Could this be a battery issue, or something worse? I’d love to hear your thoughts before I take it to the shop. Thanks!

Ok, so I’ve got this issue where the temp gauge on my Ranger keeps moving up and down while I’m driving. Like, it’ll be sitting at normal for a while, then suddenly creep up close to the hot zone for a minute, then drop back down. No overheating or check engine light yet (thankfully), but it’s got me kinda paranoid. 🤷‍♂️ I checked the coolant level, and it’s fine, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

I’ve read it might be a bad thermostat sticking or maybe air in the cooling system? I even heard it could be something to do with the radiator fan not kicking in at the right times. Anyone had this happen before? Should I be looking at the radiator cap or the water pump too? I don’t want to ignore it and end up with a big repair bill later if the engine gets damaged.

Also, has anyone replaced the thermostat on a Ranger? Is it easy to do yourself, or am I better off taking it to a mechanic? Could it be the temperature sensor just acting up? Any help or advice would be awesome!

I lost my Ford Ranger keys and I’m looking at options. I’ve heard you can get a new key made just by using the VIN number. Anyone done this? How long does it take, and do I have to go through a dealership or are there other places that can do it cheaper? Trying to avoid a crazy dealership bill if I can. Thanks for any tips!

Ugh, I did the dumbest thing ever today. I locked my keys inside my Ranger… with the key fob in there too!  Has anyone else done this? Is there a trick to getting back in without smashing a window? I’ve heard some trucks have a way to unlock with the fob inside, but I can’t figure it out. Help!! Maybe a coat hanger trick still works in 2024? Lol, I'm desperate.

I think my Ford Ranger might have a loose spark plug, but not sure.  What are the symptoms? I’ve been noticing the engine feels kinda rough, especially when idling, and there’s a drop in power when I try to accelerate. Could this be it, or should I be looking at something else? Any advice appreciated. Don’t want to be stuck on the side of the road if this gets worse!
